This sculpture collection is meticulously handcrafted by Big Sky Carvers artists based on founder Marc Pierce's own life experiences. Each piece comes with a copy of the story written by Marc, from which it was inspired:

"Where I grew up in north central Illinois, getting permission to deer hunt was tough. There weren't nearly as many deer back then, and we were close enough to Chicago to have some folks who didn't approve of hunting. So, we worked hard to build relationships with those landowners who did provide us access (read: whiskey and deer steaks as Christmas gifts). While we were grateful to have those properties to hunt on, farms where small back then and I can't count the times we saw a big deer only as he was crossing over to the neighbor's property. Such heartbreak was usually followed by a renewed determination to do whatever it took: move our tree stand, hunt earlier/later, call, and rattle...whatever we had to do to get that big boy to give us another chance on the right side of the barbed wire."
