This sculpture collection is meticulously handcrafted by Big Sky Carvers artists based on founder Marc Pierce's own life experiences. Each piece comes with a copy of the story written by Marc, from which it was inspired:

"I moved to Montana from the Midwest where I grew up fishing for warm water fish - mostly bass, bluegills and catfish. Watching fly-fishermen in Montana made me chuckle at first; what is the intrigue of catching fish with a long flimsy rod on a hair bug when I could catch as many or more on worms, just like back home? Well, a lot of water has run down these rivers since then and my spinning and bait casting rods are now covered with dust. I love to fly-fish for trout. The art of casting, the biology of trout, the entomology of what they eat, and the beautiful places they live make for a sport with endless learnging and challenges. These two rainbows are holding in a pool and finding sustenance in a summer mayfly hatch."
